We Started by Calling it the Summer of Two Fires and a Landslide
This publication is the first in a series that examines what happens when you enter and leave collaborations — the social, intellectual, and psychic reins of those shifts. Conceived in Cairo by Nida Ghouse and Malak Helmy in 2012, and realised during a residency at Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte as part of RESO 3 (2013), the book collects texts, reflections, fragments, and responses that trace the tensions and afterlives of collaboration.
Risograph printed in five colors, this book lets the residue of shared work breathe: capture the overlaps, the fractures, the moments when working together becomes leaving, and vice versa — turning process into book form.
